It may lead to dehydration a serious medical complication. Treatment by using oral rehydration salts and zinc tablets is estimated to have saved about 50 million children in last 25 years. Causes of diarrhea are listed below:

                        Infections: viruses - norovirus causes diarrhea in adult, rotavirus causes diarrhea in children, adeno virus, astrovirus; bacteria - campylobacter, salmonellae, toxin produced by clostridium difficile; parasites - charda.

                        Malabsorption – food allergy, food intolerance, lactose intolerance, pernicious anemia, and loss of pancreatic secretion, short bowel syndrome, and orlistat drug reduces absorption of fat.

            Then drink liquids like water, sports drink, soda, clear broth, gelatin, and apple juice every 15 minutes

            Eat bland food like banana, crackers, rice 24 –48 hrs after last vomiting

            Eat normal food if bland food is tolerated.
